Performing singer songwriter from Coventry UK.
Formerly frontman with Coventry band Fineline turned solo artist writing songs and performing them across the country.
Influenced by OCS, the Who, the Beatles, Paul Weller, Northern Soul and many, many more.... Danny formed the band Fineline in late 1999.
Fineline went on to become one of the best unsigned live bands in the country receiving fantastic live reviews, recorded some fantastic songs, supporting some well known acts, as well as winning Sennheiser best UK unsigned act 2003, which resulted in them playing the NIA and at Glastonbury festival 2003.
Danny, forever writing songs and playing live, eventually signed to Glasslip records in 2011 & recorded debut album titled 'This Stone Will Roll On' in 2012 at Tinkle Studios, Coventry. The album was released in January 2012 gaining some excellent reviews. In 2013 second album ‘Week In Week Out' was released. Third album 'Long Story Short' was released in August 2015. Danny's fourth album ‘Keep The Change was released in July 2017.
Danny is always performing live, working hard in studio, supporting very well known acts including Ocean Colour Scene, The Selector, Happy Mondays, Steve Craddock, Neville Staple, The Blue Tones, John Power and performed at major festivals up and down the country.
In early 2019 Danny formed a new band after visiting Born in a Barn Studio in Ansty on the outskirts of Coventry.
After a string of successful gigs headlining the Coventry Godiva Festival acoustic stage and headline slots at many other festivals including the 2-Tone Stage supporting The Specials in August 2019 ‘Police at the Door' video single was released followed by indie stomping single ‘Satellites’ in December 2019.
The full album ‘As It Goes’ followed quickly in March 2020.
After Danny Ansell & Co finished after a successful album release and some fantastic live gigs Danny decided to buy a small home studio during the first lockdown after recording A sky so blue in my front room on a project for Coventry city of culture 2021. He began to record some new songs wrote at the back end of last year. Not being able to get out and perform live is frustrating so Every Wednesday and Friday evening over a few months He worked with the superb Patrick beard who plays bass on the ep together they worked on everything from start to finish . Patrick worked tirelessly with danny to create this Collection of songs .
It’s the 6th studio album/ep released but this is very special as it’s first time Self recorded , produced and released original songs instead of working in a professional studio with an engineer it was all done at home
and received amazing pre release reviews ...
