JoN JoN was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1975.
His parents however decided it would be within their best interest as parents to relocate to Virginia in 1980.
With his father djaying several parties during his young age JoN-JoN developed a natural love for music. However it was that one night at a house party when his father played Rappers Delight by the Sugarhill Gang, which sparked his love for the culture and art form, we call hiphop.
During visits to local record stores like kids would want candy JoN JoN instead would settle for 12 singles like White Lines, The Message, Electric Kingdom, The Breaks etc.
Still very young with the idea of the culture JoN JoN would learn much more about the culture thru his cousin Willie who at the time was right in the thick of the hiphop cultural movement. During trips to Virginia cousin Willie would expose JoN JoN to 3 other elements of the culture Break dancing, graffiti, emceeing.
The first element Jon - Jon would become deeply involved with would be the b-boy side. After spending most of his school days doing the background dancing for several rap groups Jon Jon on the down low would begin to explore the art of emceeing.
This is where he found his niche, writing rhymes now for about 14 yrs he has mastered his craft and continues to posses the same fire he possessed from day 1.
With many years of experience in emceeing JoN JoN has been venturing into other realms of the industry. From production(via Savage Beats) to being featured on the regional cable television show ArtistChannel as well as radio personality for ArtistChannel Radio, and now to assisting Basek in the development of indie label Penmanship Records.
