Makala "Kala K" Wright, December 1, 1988, raised in North Dallas, Texas, discovered her musical talents at the age of nine. Her uncle Willie "Fressh" Esqwire and Khrome were the first two producers to record her powerful vocals on wax; and Fressh also taught her all about music production. From that point, she began recording and producing her own music. During this time, KALA K went by the stage-name "KIRA" which stood for “Kala Is Real Always” or “Keep It Real Always”. Her first musical collaboration was with a local DFW artist named Mayhem, and around that time she was about eleven years old. After graduating from Lake Highland High School, with honors, in 2007, she began to really focus on establishing a music career. In 2008, KALA K’s first single “A1 Game” won on an independent artist radio contest hosted by Cat Daddy at K104fm, a local radio station in the DFW metroplex. Afterwards, KALA K linked up with Terry McGill, a local Dallas promoter, in order to professionally advertise her brand. In 2011, KALA K dropped the "WHO DF IS KALA K?" mixtape and moved to Houston, Texas. By 2014 KALA K teamed up with DJ Chose (Mr. Everywhere I Go) and dropped her first official mixtape entitled “NICK SACK”; which was then followed up with the “NICK SACK RELOADED” mixtape early 2017. She also introduced the “KING OF QUEENS” mixtape in late 2017 as well. Ride along and follow KALA K on the road to success as her music continues to grow all across the globe.
