Mark Taylor grew up in farming community of Webberville, Texas, outside Austin. He earned a B.S. in Ag Journalism, M.S. in Adult Education and is now completing a dissertation in Organizational Creativity at Texas A&M.

He started his career as a radio announcer working at KAGC radio and then the USA Radio Network. He has served as Marketing Director for BodyBIlt Seating (now ErgoGenesis) and Neutral Posture, and as Director of Communications for Bryan I.S.D. He has taught college communication courses at Texas A&M University and at Blinn College. Mark is now the sole operator of Taylor Creative, an advertising and marketing agency started in the Brazos Valley in 1994. His clients include a variety of local, state and national clients. He is also part-time Minister of Music & Worship for Hillcrest Baptist Church, directing adult and children's choir programs and planning and leading weekly worship services. Additionally, he teaches private voice and drama.

As a graphic designer, writer and strategic marketing expert, Mark's skills have earned him numerous awards, including Brazos Bravo Awards, Silver Quill Awards, Telly Awards, Aurora Awards, and other industry accolades. He is a graduate of the Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Brazos program (class of 2000), and is a past board member of the Brazos Valley Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators and the Hope Pregnancy Center of Brazos Valley.

Mark has long been involved in the arts. In addition to his skills as a graphic visual artists, he is also an aggressive proponent of local performing arts and musical theater, and is an accomplished pianist, vocalist and composer. While still an undergraduate student at Texas A&M, he wrote and produced two original youth musicals (Kronika, SomeWherehouse). In Jan. 2011 The Theatre company produced his original musical, Esther: For Such A Time As This, selling out all performances over a week before the show opened. He is currently working on a new musical—Corazon, about Corazon Aquino and the 1986 People Power Revolution in the Philippines.

He has sung with the Brazos Valley Chorale, the Austin Civic Chorus, Ft. Worth's Scola Cantorum, and other choral groups. Mark has appeared in numerous roles at The Theatre Company.
Mark has served as President of The Theatre Company's board of directors. Mark served on the executive committee for the 10th Anniversary Cattle Baron's Ball, and the executive committee for the 2011 OPAS Gala. He and his wife, Beverly, are currently co-chairs of the 2012 OPAS Gala. For the Arts Council of Brazos Valley, he served as an emcee of the 2010 Celebrating The Arts event, and on the committee for the 2011 Celebrating The Arts event. He also donated his piano skills for ACBV's 40th Anniversary Celebration at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum. Through his company, Taylor Creative, Mark continues to perform hundreds of hours of creative work each year for local arts groups. He is an avid James Bond fan, having even written a complete 007 screenplay, Double or Nothing.

He is married to the former Beverly Culver, A&M class of 1987, who is a Master Teacher with Bryan I.S.D. and former BISD Teacher of the Year. He and Beverly have three sons, all talented musicians in their own right: Nate, Cully, and Ike.
