Veteran Belizean Artist, Michael Wagner is a Singer, Songwriter, and Entertainer who has been playing music and entertaining from the tender age of 13. Wagner is the epitome of his father Joseph Wagner, musician, song writer, and the composer of the famous Belizean song "We've Come A Long Way". His father commissioned him before his passing to keep up the tradition and to utilize the catalogue of songs he left behind.
Michael have since used the songs Since I Found You" (co-authored with his father), as well as "My Queen" and "Turn Me On,"
Michael Wagner performed with the Legendary Lord Rhaburn band in Belize as lead vocalist with Sam Hamilton. They toured New York, Chicago, New Orleans, Miami and California. He also played with Glen Bood and the Telegrams, He and his twin Brothers Mark, became known as the Wagner Brothers. They were the first guest artists on the local show, "Live Cream" in Belize.
Michael Wagner, who is now based in Los Angeles, California, is the owner and Lead Singer of The Roots Band. Together they created an original and distinct sound with a mixture of different cultural rhythms that sets them apart from the rest. The Roots Band combines all flavors of music that has touched the hearts of many people both in the Caribbean and around the world for over 15 years.
Known for their high-energy performance, Mike and his band is Dubbed "Belize’s Hottest".
This success gave them the opportunity to play at numerous non Caribbean events such as the open games for the Los Angele Lakers and the Kings Hockey team in California. The band also played on several occasions at events, with one of the most memorable fundraiser party, "Shaqtacular", for the NBA 2000 World Champions the Los Angeles Lakers and MVP Shaquille O’Neal. During that performance Shaq jumped on the bandstand with band and sang Bob Marley’s "No Woman No Cry". As a testament to their growing popularity, the band landed several other opening gigs for numerous Los Angeles sports teams, such as the Los Angeles Dodgers, the L.A Kings and also for the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center.
Throughout the years Michael Wagner and Roots Band have done many amazing performances: In addition to performing at various venues and festivals, the band performed at JP Morgan Chase Tournament and open for tennis player Serena Williams at the Home Depot Center.
They played for The Amgen Bicycle tour of California in seven different cities from San Francisco to Redondo Beach. 0ther shows includes CBS/Radio at Ford Studio Hollywood California and Stevie Wonder fundraiser Los Angeles California and over five consecutive years of performances for the MLK annual Celebration in Los Angeles.
Michael Wagner and Roots Band is Known for superb performances anywhere they go and still currently the people’s choice for Caribbean Socca and Reggae Music.
In September of 2014, Michael was invited to performed in his homeland Belize which was made possible by the one and only Legendary Artist, Mr. Tony Wright. Michael's trip was full of love and acceptance. Michael's newly release CD "No Gossip" hit the nation's airwaves with several songs quickly jumping up the charts.
He did several in studio appearances with:
Krem FM Radio, Krem TV Show- Roof Top, Love FM, Love TV morning show, Channel 5 Belize-Open Your Eyes and Orange Walk Universal Radio 88.5FM
While in Belize Michael participated in the Orange Walk Street Fest – with the Youth Connection Band.
Michael Wagner became a Household Name.
Michael's music also played on Los Angeles. KJLH Radio Free and continued to be in rotation on several of the Belize Radio Station as well as Radio Belize Mix, KXLU Radio, and Bronx New York Radio – 95.1 FM.
Michael's love for his fans and music is unconditional and vows to continue making music that the world can relate to.
