A Whole Lot More
Randy, Jeff, and Steve have been playing together for…well, a very long time. Their musical adventures have covered a broad expanse of the landscape - pop, country, blues, folk, all of it well-steeped in traditional American expression. From their first forays into powerful three-piece blues on Live in Ireland to the front-porch jingle-jangle of Ignorance in Action to their full-circle return to smoky electric muscle on Excessive Sobriety, Red Rabbit produces potent grant-and-ask-no-quarter rock and roll. Red Rabbit is Randy Bryant, drums and percussion; Jeff Purvis, vocals and guitars; Steve Raymond, bass (and occasional keyboard). The current “Big Band” includes Dennis Sturdevant, keyboards; Molly Herner, vocals; and Susan Herner, vocals and keyboards. Historically the band has tapped into the talents of a cadre of musician friends to augment their core sound - Stacy Boyd, Herb Clarkson, Carrie Gieger, Dolores Grah, Phil Jacoby, Cami Kincer, Susan Oxley, Carol Plough, Larry Sauers, John Stoughton, Pat Sullivan, and Jim Timmerman.

For the Ignorance In Action CD, special mention needs to be made of electronics wizard and voodoo mixmaster Nathan Manlove and his uncanny abilities to freeze, reverse, and accelerate time. Many a twisted and tortured recording-session road has been made straight through his intervention. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Nathan.
