The Mr-Roc-Hustle story, in his own words:
I started freestyling at the age of 17 in my hometown of Akron, Ohio. Then, I just got hooked on hiphop and really got into the music part of it, diving into that, taking it more seriously. I began writing instrumentals and creating my own original beats.
From that point on, I knew I wanted to do this for the rest of my life. My dream is to be able to go on performing, recording and creating this music so that others can enjoy it take away something meaningful from it. I want to take my music on the road and continue being a rapper and hiphop artist of consequence for the rest of my life.
My hiphop sound is diverse … I mix influences from all the different scenes in the country. I blend the vocal stylings of Southern hiphop with the creative mic savvy of an East Coast rapper, with the grit and intensity of the West Coast hiphop scene. It’s melodic and beat driven, with equal attention to the music and the lyric.
