Andres Miguel Madera a.k.a. Sha-L is a hip hop artist based in Miami,FL. His style has been described as animated and aggressive yet smoove. He began rapping at the age of 14, when he discovered he could freestyle after a friend dared him to. Immediately Sha began perfecting his skills in cypher's and battles at his high school and in his neighborhood.He also performed at alot of local talent shows and events. In 2004 he was featured on the "You Gotta Hear This" mixtape series by a independant label then known as Soundscience. In 2006, Sha suffered a near fatal accident after falling asleep behind the wheel of his jeep. Sha said of the experiance, "all I remember was driving up a bridge and the next thing I knew, I was waking up in a helicopter on the way to the hospital". His injuries left him in the hospital five days. Amazingly the speed of his recovery surprised the doctors so much, they called it a "act of GOD". The experiance was life changing and inspired Sha to record and release his first solo street mixtape "Paper Chaser vol 1 Imitators Never Progress" in 2007. After that Sha-L took a hiatus from music to focus on helping his sick mother recover, although he continued writing material. Sha has said "I dont regret anything I've been through because it's only made me stronger, and I dont regret not putting out any music because it has allowed me to learn so much and grow as a emcee and all around artist". Now in 2014 Sha has a newly rejuvinated hunger for music, and is more focused than ever before. He recently released a single called "Mindset Of A G", featuring 5M Music Group artist Chin Rilla on itunes and amazon, and is recording his second full length mixtape.He's also being featured on the "Nocturnal Music-Miami nights dont sleep" mixtape by 5M Music Group.
Sha-L was born March 25, 1984 in Harlem,New York to Dominican parents. At the age of 7 his mother moved him and his brother down to Hialeah, a town on the west side of Miami,FL. Because of many financial struggles sha and his family were forced to move alot through out his life. Which allowed him to be exposed to the many aspects Miami life offered. These experiances have givin Sha a unique view of the world and life in general. These views and thoughts are what have shaped and molded his music. Sha strongly believes that music is a reflection of life. Therefore life should be the major influence in any artist music, if not it's just not real.
