Britton Anthony Cook (stage name) “Mack the Shark”, a song-writer & vocalist born and raised in the San Fernando Valley and Compton-Los Angeles area in California, USA, just may be Hip-Hop and Pop-Cultures best kept secret and missing component. Known for his instrument-like harmonics and uncanny ability to lyrically create rhythms, Mack has been acting and song-writing as well as performing in front of live audiences for over 8 years.
Back in 2009, when his college basketball career came to an end amidst his father’s cancer diagnosis, he began “Acquired Tasteclub Productions” a music/audio production company located in Pacoima, California. Shortly after Mack the Shark would release his first album work in collaboration with his production company and his sibling brother hip-hop artist “KiiD”. The EP album they called THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT was finished the Summer of 2011, but not released until the summer of June 2012.
He released his first official music video this April 2013 called “Miss Me” produced by D.Struct, the hit single will release for purchase via iTunes this summer of 2013. From a scholarship declining college athlete to some of the hottest music circulating in the northern hemisphere, now Mack the Shark’s music has been buzzing internationally through blogs.
Mack’s style and sound is often described as an Alternative Hip-Hop and Pop-Indie feel, he is known for his melodic cadences, clever hooks, witty metaphors and ability to connect with listeners in-directly. His music is often described as intellectual, yet his skills allow him to be so versatile that Mack’s musical genres can range from R&B to Punk Rock to Hardcore Rap to Today’s Country. Many of his lyrics can be heard through his work ghost-writing for vicarious emerging artists who create music Independently as well as through the industry.
