M.C. aka Millennium Child
M.C. aka the Millennium Child is a Hip-Hop recording artist and has been rapping for almost two decades, he is also a trained street dancer (b-boy) who has been dancing since the age of 4. His songs have been played many times on Radio stations and by club djs around the world. His musical influences are Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Michael Jackson, LL Cool J and the list goes on. Refusing to believe Scotland can’t do what England or America does musically. He launched his own independent label called Millennium Child Entertainment 3 years ago, which he has been using to promote up, and coming artist. 2005 he released his debut single (My Life) independently, which has now sold over 18,000 copies, making it the biggest selling Scottish independent Hip-Hop single for 2005. M.C. is also a well-known DJ, part of the DJ collective called Tha' Flava. Tha' Flava have put on and played alongside some of the biggest names in the music industry. 2004 he was invited to the Olympic city where he DJ & performed during the Olympics. June 2006 ITV did a documentary on M.C., which was, aired prime time talking about his single, what he does and his crew. The show was viewed by over 384,000 people on a Sunday afternoon. Over the last 7years M.C. has also been doing different workshops in local community centres (breakdance, DJ & Rap) around the UK especially in the North East of Scotland. He launch is Hiphop School in April 2005 where he teaches young people how to break dance, song write, Rap and DJ. His workshops have proved to be a favourite and leave people wanting more. Due to the huge success and DEMAND for the single, millenium child entertainment re-released it in 2006. M.C supported De La Soul, Big Daddy Kane and Biz Markie on their Scotland tour in 2006.The legendary Tim Westwood also interviewed M.C. live on radio 1 May 12th 2006. He recently premiered his video to a sold out crowd at the Belmont Cinema. He also appeared on ITV to promote the launched of his video. Millennium Child family which includes Mayhem, Gutta Platoon, The Futures Present and M.C. have performed with the likes of De la Soul, MTV & Radio 1 Tim Westwood & Chris Goldfinger, G.Unit, Jazzy Jeff, Public Enemy, Sugarhill Gang and the list goes on and on. Millennium Child features in the 2006/7 December, January and February issue VOX magazine (www.voxpublications.co.uk) alongside Westwood and Goldfinger. 2007 M.C. aka Millennium Child was nominated for a Champions award for his work in community and with young people. June 14th 2008 M.C released is most anticipated album “Survival: Against All Odds”. This is just the beginning so watch this space.
