Matthew D. Godwin has always had a great love of music. Born in 1957 in Macon, Georgia, Matt got his first snare drum by the age of 4. About 6 months later he got a cymbal to go with it, to the dismay of the family dog. In 1965, his family moved to Daytona Beach, Florida, where he got his first drum kit.
